GOODNESS

GOODNESS

Today we are going to speak about the sixth Fruit of the Spirit. This Characteristic is Goodness. All of us have to make an effort to become better people than what we are now. With the current characteristics that we have already discussed this is another one that takes action in our daily life.

Having goodness in your life is important because of what Paul tells us in Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God”. Why you may ask because goodness allows a sinful man to do good and to be good. Meaning that because God has allowed us to show this characteristic we are able to be the truest form of good even though we were born sinners. We have to realize that goodness is the essence of God’s nature. He wants us to be good so why not try it.

We have to understand that this is something that we have to work towards. If you look again in Romans, this time in 8:7 we see “Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.” This verse simply means that when we are not following after God it is easy to be bad it is not easy to be good. I have learned in my walk with Christ that it takes a lot to do the right thing when every one around you is doing the wrong thing.

This week lets make up in our minds that we will be good. Remember what it says in Matthew 5:16 “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your GOOD works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”.

Yours In Christ,
